WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Carlos A. Giménez issued the following statement following the passage of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 in the House of Representatives:

“Under President Biden, reckless spending by far-left Democrats has added trillions of dollars to our national debt. This funding resolution cuts wasteful spending and saves the American taxpayer billions of dollars, all while delivering much-needed improvements to our South Florida military facilities. At a time where threats against the United Sates and our way of life are emerging all around the globe, this bill answers the call. It includes an increase of $27 billion to increase pay for our troops, reestablish American industrial might, and to stop the flow of fentanyl flooding our country. As a member of the Armed Services Committee, I can say with certainty that this bill moves us forward in securing our nation” said Rep. Giménez.

“While far from the perfect bill, it includes key conservative wins, after two years of united Democrat rule. The spending package claws back $20.2 billion from President Biden’s proposed army of 85,000 additional IRS agents, claws back $4.3 billion in COVID spending, cuts $574 million from wasteful climate change programs, slashes DEI budgets,, prohibits funding to the NGOs that facilitate illegal immigration and increase funding for more Border Patrol Agents, denies visas to Castro regime officials and cuts funding for phony “private sector” programs in Cuba, and redirects billions from the President’s budget request to counter Communist China’s malign influence in our hemisphere,” he concluded.
