WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-28) questioned Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray on the cyber threat Communist China poses to our national security and the subversive danger of Chinese social media platform TikTok.

Rep. Gimenez: Would you ban TikTok in the United States?

Director Wray: As long as the Chinese government has the ability to control all these aspects of the business - I don’t see how you get your way clear to mitigating those concerns.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez is a long-time advocate of banning Communist Chinese social media platform TikTok for their subversive activity, data harvesting, and privacy concerns. TikTok opens the door for the Chinese Communist Party to access Americans’ personal information and is a threat to our national security.
