CONGRESSMAN CARLOS GIMENEZ INTRODUCES LEGISLATION TO COMBAT VEHICULAR TERROR February 26, 2025 WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Carlos Gimenez introduced the Department of Homeland Security Vehicular Terrorism Prevention and Mitigation Act of 2025. This legislation will require the Department of Homeland Security to produce a report on emerging threats and countermeasures related to vehicular terrorism. The Department of Homeland Security, in coordination with Departmental components, will be required to analyze evolving threats, identify high-risk locations, and develop strategies to combat vehicular terrorism.“The horrific ISIS-inspired terrorist attack in New Orleans makes tragically clear how vehicles are weaponized as instruments of terror,” said Congressman Carlos Gimenez. “DHS must take actionable steps to counter the gross proliferation of vehicular threats and share the findings of its assessment with Congress and the American people. I am proud to introduce this bill and encourage my colleagues to prioritize its advancement as we continue to mourn the loss of 14 innocent lives on New Year’s Day.” Read the full bill text HERE. ### Congressman Carlos Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the beautiful Florida Keys.
