Description of Project: The funding would be used to establish a shared Secure & Resilient Communications Verification Facility providing the test and verification capabilities needed to assess next-generation high-frequency communications hardware and waveforms relevant to 5G/6G and beyond. The facility will support national security, space systems, and critical infrastructure communications by evaluating performance in congested and contested spectral environments. As a multi-user resource, it will serve FIU’s engineering programs, regional and statewide industry partners, and government collaborators while training students and engineers in modern verification workflows that support high-value jobs in South Florida and across Florida and advance capabilities of national importance.
