MIAMI, FL – Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-26) issued the following statement after the passing of former Miami-Dade County Deputy Mayor, and close personal friend, Jack Osterholt:

“I am heartbroken to hear of Jack’s passing. Today, we lost a wonderful public servant and a close friend. Jack had a distinguished career having served at the highest levels of local and state government with honor and integrity. Throughout my time in public service, Jack was always someone who I relied on for advice and counsel. He was always quick with a joke that lightened our meetings. His knowledge, leadership, and charm will be missed in the halls of our local government.

Jack left an imposing imprint on our community and everyone who worked around him. I was truly blessed by his friendship and I will miss him dearly. Lourdes and I extend our prayers to Jack’s family.”
