MIAMI, FL – Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-26) led a letter to Speaker Pelosi demanding the removal of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar from her committee assignments following official statements equating the United States to terrorist organizations such as Hamas and the Taliban.

“Speaker Pelosi has made it clear her belief is that it is the responsibility of each party’s leadership to hold Members of Congress accountable for their perverse comments and actions. Congresswoman Omar’s comments and stances denigrate the dignity of this institution and are a danger to our national interest. It is time for Speaker Pelosi to rise up to the standard she placed on herself and hold Congresswoman Omar accountable,” Gimenez said announcing the letter.
