MIAMI, FL – Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-26) hosted a roundtable discussion with members of South Florida’s law enforcement community Monday afternoon at the Kendall Hammocks District Police Station. Members of the Miami-Dade Police Department, Monroe County Police Department, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation attended the discussion.

Our brave men and women of law enforcement put their lives on the line every day to keep our families and our community safe. By hearing directly from you on the issues most affecting our law enforcement officers, I can better serve as your voice in Washington when representing South Florida and the entire law enforcement community,” Gimenez said upon inviting the participants to the roundtable.

Several topics were discussed at the discussion, including the need to protect grant funding for local police departments to carry out their duty, the importance of building a trusting relationship between the community and law enforcement agencies, and ways to improve local-state-federal interagency relationships more efficient to better serve the needs of the community.
