WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Carlos Gimenez (FL-28) has been selected by his colleagues to serve on the prestigious US House Armed Services Committee (HASC). 

He will be the very first Member of Congress from Miami-Dade County to serve on HASC in modern history. 

“I am honored and humbled to have been selected by my colleagues to serve on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) and fight for our community’s men and women in uniform who serve at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Naval Air Station Key West, and US Southern Command,” said Congressman Carlos Gimenez (FL-28). 

“The United States of America is the greatest country in the history of the world, and as a first generation American, I’ll always be forever grateful to this truly exceptional nation. I look forward to working with Chairman Rogers and my HASC colleagues to strengthen America and guarantee our security well into the 21st century.”

  

Congressman Gimenez represents much of Miami-Dade County and the entirety of the Florida Keys, including Homestead Air Reserve Base and Naval Air Station Key West.
