WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Florida Keys Congressman Carlos A. Giménez (FL-28) joined CNN’s News Central to re-emphasize the need to reform the Motion to Vacate. Rep. Gimenez has previously stated that he will not back a candidate for Speaker of the House until there is a commitment to reform the Motion to Vacate, which paved the way for Speaker McCarthy’s premature removal.
“I’m not supporting any candidate for Speaker of the House until there is a commitment to reform the Motion to Vacate,” said Rep. Giménez. “Last week’s despicable spectacle against Speaker McCarthy must never happen again. No one can govern effectively under threat by those on the fringes.”
