Dear Friends, As Florida just endured yet another direct hit from a major hurricane, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have responded to this crisis. Just a week after Hurricane Helene made landfall on Florida's west coast, Hurricane Milton followed, bringing more devastation. The rapid and coordinated response after both storms highlights the resilience and unity of our Florida community, as we come together to support one another in times of hardship. Sincerely, |

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Surveys Damage from Hurricane Milton Alongside Florida Senator Marco Rubio and the United States Coast Guard, I went to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Milton. As a career first responder and Chairman of the Homeland Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, my priority is delivering the assistance our folks need.
Alongside the entire Florida Congressional Delegation, we wrote to President Biden in support of Florida Governor Ron Desantis’ request for an Expedited Major Disaster Declaration as a result of Hurricane Milton. Such a declaration would provide the state with essential federal resources that will help state and local authorities to respond and recover since the storm's landfall.
