WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-28), along with fellow Cuban Reps. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Maria Elvira Salazar (FL-27), and Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-26) hosted a press conference to denounce far-left socialist Members of Congress for secretly traveling to Communist Cuba to meet with officials from the regime.
“It is reprehensible for U.S. Members of Congress to appease and lobby for a brutal dictatorship that oppresses its people, tramples on human rights, and violently squashes political opponents,” said Rep. Gimenez. “Communist Cuba poses a direct threat to U.S. national security and will stop at nothing in its pathetic efforts to undermine the free world.”
