Dear Friends, 

Venezuelans are still not only fighting for their freedom, but also their lives. Yet, they will not let the Maduro regime let them live in fear. As hundreds get kidnapped and arrested by regime agents, many more continue to speak out in opposition as the regime tries to silence them. Socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro lost the election, end of story.

Calls for a new election in Venezuela have no standing, in fact it is an insult to the thousands that turned out to vote on July 28th. As opposition leader Maria Corina Machado noted, if Maduro still has not accepted the results of the first election, would he recognize a second election? “Do we go for a third one?” said Maria Corina Machado.

The simple answer is no. He will not. Nicolas Maduro will do all he can to grasp onto power. That's why it is vital that we not only continue to speak out against him, but demand that our international partners and the Biden-Harris Administration take stronger action against the tyrannical regime.

The Biden-Harris Administration must speak out against the blatant human rights violations taking place in Venezuela and must call for the international recognition of Edmundo Gonzalez as the true legitimate President-Elect of Venezuela. There is no need for a second election because the people have already spoken at the ballot box and in the streets.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Wishes all Students a Healthy and Safe School Year 

As the nation’s students go back to the classroom, I want to wish all students of South Florida a healthy and safe school year. With classes already beginning in Miami-Dade Dade, I urge all students to not only enjoy these formative years, but also to study hard because you are our nation's future leaders. I look forward to seeing all the accomplishments our students will have to show throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Speaks with the True President-Elect, Edmundo Gonzalez of Venezuela

I had the honor of speaking with President-Elect Edmundo Gonzalez of Venezuela. On the call, I reaffirmed not only my support of the Venezuelan people, but also the nations. The fight for democracy and freedom in Venezuela will not go away overnight. We will continue to call out the fraudulent elections that took place under socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro and proclaim Edmundo Gonzalez the true winner of the July 28, 2024, presidential elections in Venezuela.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Joins Twin Lakes Project Groundbreaking

In the Fiscal Year 2022 budget, I requested and secured federal funding for the Twin Lakes Subdivision Pre-Disaster project. This project will ensure the long-term viability of this community and ensure households are protected from impacts of natural disasters. The project will consist of a gravity wall which will be built to elevate portions of the street to create a boundary between the road and wetlands. Further, water collection, treatment, and disposal systems will also be engineered to manage flooding on the roadways. This critical investment in the Twin Lakes Subdivision will not only minimize the growing risks of natural disasters but will also protect the residents of this great community for years to come.

I was honored to join Mayor Holly Raschein and other Monroe County Officials as we broke ground on this project. With this new construction we will ensure that residents can safely evacuate the area, emergency services can reach victims, debris can be cleared, powerlines can be restored, and general recovery throughout the area can take place.

Team Gimenez visited the Coast Guard Facility in Brickell to meet with Coast Guard leadership and receive an update on their operations monitoring immigration into the U.S.

Team Gimenez met with leadership at Homestead Air Reserve Base to discuss issues facing the base and how Congress can assist their mission to deter the Communist Chinese threat from Latin America.
