Dear Friends, 

The July 28, 2024, presidential elections results show that Edmundo Gonzalez defeated the Socialist Dictator Nicolas Maduro in a landslide. Nicolas Maduro has continued to fraudulently claim victory and the U.S. must lead a pressure campaign to oust the socialist regime in Venezuela by reimplementing the strictest sanctions on Nicolas Maduro and his regime agents.

The socialist dictators in Cuba and Nicaragua are trembling as the murderous regime in Venezuela is collapsing and the people continue to fight for freedom peacefully in the streets. Those countries that support the Maduro regime are not friends of freedom, they are enemies of democracy and accomplices to Maduros dictatorship. 

I am proud to have introduced a House Resolution that applauds the Venezuelan people for standing up to the dictatorship and that also condemns Maduro’s illegitimate attempt to suppress the voices of the overwhelming majority of Venezuelans that call for freedom and democracy. With the passage of this resolution, the House of Representatives will recognize Edmundo Gonzalez as the rightful winner of the Venezuelan presidential elections and call on the Biden-Harris Administration to impose additional sanctions on Nicolas Maduro and his regime agents in their illegitimate attempt to committee election fraud and make a mockery of the democratic electoral process. 


My family escaped Communism and I do not want America to go down the path of socialist Venezuela. We must back the freedom-loving people of Venezuela and recognize Edmundo González as the duly elected President!

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Sent a Letter the Biden-Harris Administration 

I sent a letter alongside Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart and Maria Elvira Salazar to the Biden-Harris Administration urging them to condemn the fraudulent power grab by the Maduro regime following the July 28, 2024, presidential elections in Venezuela and to reimpose sanctions immediately to all of Maduro’s regime agents. I was pleased to see the Administration respond to our letter by recognizing Edmundo Gonzalez as the rightful winner. This fight is far from over as the Maduro regime continues to grip onto power. The United States must reimpose previous sanctions and institute new targeted sanctions on the Maduro regime.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Joined the Venezuelan People to as they Fight for Freedom

The Venezuelan community demands freedom in their homeland. After losing in an electoral landslide to Edmundo Gonzalez, socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro continues to hold onto the office the people of Venezuela democracy ousted him from. 

I joined the Venezuelan exile community at Bayfront Park as we gathered together as one as we continue to call for freedom in Venezuela and condemn the electoral fraud of the Maduro regime.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez, Joined by his South Florida Colleagues, Stand with the Venezuelan People

As the representatives of the largest Venezuelan exile community in the United States, we continue to affirm that we stand with Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo Gonzalez. Countries that continue to stand with Socialist Dictator Nicolas Maduro will have to face severe consequences for not standing up for democracy.

I extend my deep appreciation to the Republic of Peru for their leadership as they stand up for democracy in Venezuela. As the first country to recognize Edmundo Gonzalez as the new President-Elect of Venezuela, I encourage other regional allies to follow in Peru’s leadership and do the same.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Condemns Biden-Harris SCOTUS reforms

The Biden-Harris Administration is taking a page out of socialist dictator Hugo Chavez's playbook and taking America down the path of Venezuela. The first thing the socialist regime did in Venezuela was 'reform' the country's Supreme Court. This move is what undermined Venezuelan democracy and allowed for Maduro to consolidate his tyranny over the Venezuelan people fighting for freedom. We must reject the Biden-Harris Administration's pathetic, short sighted, call for 'reform' at the Supreme Court because we cannot allow what happened in Venezuela to happen here in America.
