We Must End Illegal Immigration

September 23, 2024

Dear Friends,

Border Czar Kamala Harris continues to turn a blind eye to the ongoing border crisis. This crisis has led to drugs, murders, and human traffickers flooding into our communities, killing thousands of innocent American lives. The Biden-Harris Administration continues to weaken our border and put our children's lives at jeopardy. Therefore, we must close the border.

This past week, the House Homeland Security Committee held a full committee hearing on U.S. border security. During my questioning, Arizona Sheriff, David Hathaway, attempted to intimidate and accuse me of being a racist for my stance on the border crisis. Supporting legal immigration and a secure border does not make you a racist. Wanting to protect our communities and children from illegal drugs and gangs doesn't make you a racist. The left calls anyone who supports border security and legal immigration a racist. I will not be intimidated by the socialist Democrats' fear tactics.

As a Hispanic, a Cuban exile, legal immigrant, and only Cuban-born Member of Congress, I will not be intimidated by socialist Democrats who call supporting the border and legal immigration racist. I support ending the border crisis once and for all. The Biden-Harris administration must begin implementing existing border and immigration laws. Further, we must pass comprehensive border security measures and end the illegal immigration that continues to plague and undermine the security of our community and nation.

Sincerely,

Your Congressman,
Carlos A. Gimenez

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Honors Celia Cruz

During Hispanic Heritage Month we honor the Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz. Celia was forced from our homeland of Cuba after the Communist revolution but never forgot where she came from. Celia Cruz will forever be an icon of our proud Cuban-American community. Now we honor Celia by having her, the first Latina, depicted in the U.S. quarter.

Watch my video statement celebrating Celia Cruz HERE.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Presses the Department of Homeland Security and Justice on the ongoing Human Smuggling Crisis

Alongside Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), we sent a letter to the Department of Justice Secretary, Merrick Garland, and Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, on the ongoing human smuggling crisis. This letter is calling on Secretary Mayorkas to close the border to prevent human smuggling and for Secretary Garland to prosecute human smuggling operations like in Key Largo.
