We Will Never Forget

September 9, 2024

Dear Friends,

This week we remember the thousands of lives lost during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks 23 years ago. What we witnessed in the days following those attacks showed the best of America. We came together as a country and helped one another through prayer and strength. We put aside political divides and became one nation. While the barbaric acts of terrorism tried to kill our spirit, they failed and misunderstood the passion and strength of our American Spirit.

As we remember the fallen victims and heroes of September 11, we must also know that we are still in a battle for freedom and liberty. We are thankful for all of those who continue to risk their lives in the defense of freedom and who continue to support the mission of making the world a better place for our children. America has provided my family refuge from censorship, political persecution, and communism. I will never stop defending her.

On this 23rd anniversary, Americans offer their thanks to those who gave their all that day and pray for the families they left behind. We also remember the men and women that are part of this nation's brave group of first responders and those in uniform who continue to serve and protect our country today from those who continue to wish hard on our great nation. May God bless and protect our brave men and women in uniform and these United States of America.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Presses the Department of State and Homeland on a Known Castro Agent Living in the US

Joined by Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Tom McClintock (R-CA), alongside my South Florida colleagues Representatives Maria Diaz-Balart (R-FL) and Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), we sent a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas demanding answers as to why a known Castro Agent was granted a visa to live in the United States.

On August 15, 2024, Manuel Menendez Castellanos, who served under Fidel Castro in his coordination and support team and as a deputy of the Cuban National Assembly, was granted the special privilege of entry to the United States. In order to receive a visa to the US, there are rules and regulations, and it is clear that those laws were not followed.

In this letter we demand answers as to how Manuel Menendez Castellanos was granted a visa and allowed entry into the US. The inexcusable admission of a known Castro Agent shows the failures of the Biden-Harris Administration in not only protecting our communities but also their continued weak stance on foreign policy.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Calls for Maria Corina Machado to be Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

I joined Florida Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio and Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart, Maria Elvira Salazar, Michael Waltz, Neal Dunn, and Byron Donalds in writing a letter to the Nobel Committee in support of Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado as a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. This letter in support comes as a response to Machado’s tireless and fearless efforts of defending and restoring democracy in Venezuela before and after the July 28, 2024, presidential elections that saw Edmundo Gonzalez the rightful elected leader of the nation.
