America First is Back

January 28, 2025

Dear Friends,

It has only been one week since President Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office, yet more has been done to protect our country than Biden did in his four years.

President Trump has put his America First agenda to work, and we are seeing results in real time. From closing our border to designating Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations, America is safer today than it was one week ago.

This week, the Congress sent the Laken Riley Act to the President's desk, the first of many immigration bills that we will be tackling. Further, while the U.S. Senate is hard at work confirming President Trump’s cabinet, House Republicans are meeting to discuss how we are going to tackle issues such as immigration and the budget.

America is back and the world knows it. As President Trump continues to secure our communities, hundreds of convicted criminals are being sent back to their home countries. In doing so, Socialist President Petro of Colombia pushed back. Yet after seeing that President Trump is not playing games, President Petro accepted all of President Trump’s demands.

Let this first week put not only our nation but the whole world on notice. President Trump is back, and the Congress is ready to fight to Make America Great Again.

Sincerely,

Your Congressman,
Carlos A. Gimenez

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Appointed to the Smithsonian Board of Regents

I am deeply honored to have been appointed by my friend, Speaker Mike Johnson, to serve on the Smithsonian Board of Regents. As the only Cuban-born Member of Congress, I look forward to working with my fellow board members to guarantee that the Hispanic, Cuban American, and Cuban exile experiences are accurately portrayed and represented in the Smithsonian Institution’s collection. The Smithsonian Institution is a crown jewel of our nation and should be a bastion of patriotism and American pride for millions of people across our country and the world to enjoy.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Sits with Puerto Rican Officials
