Dear Friends,

As the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, I held a hearing to examine recent developments concerning the growing influence of Communist China in Castro's Cuba.

The Communist dictatorship in Cuba continues to harbor terrorists and embrace America’s greatest adversaries. Most concerning is its deepening military and intelligence partnership with Communist China—an alliance that poses a direct threat to the national security of the United States.

China’s spy bases on Cuban soil are not just symbolic—they’re strategic footholds just 90 miles from our shores. Recent satellite imagery indicates that the CCP has begun upgrading its intelligence facilities in an attempted effort to monitor U.S. military activities and communications.

We cannot afford to turn a blind eye. We must take decisive action to hold the Cuban regime accountable.

The security of the United States is at stake. I will continue to fight to protect our homeland and stand firmly against tyranny and oppression in our own backyard.

Sincerely,

Your Congressman,
Carlos A. Gimenez
