Dear Friends,

Last week, the world witnessed something truly powerful: courageous Cuban students speaking out in defiance of the murderous Castro dictatorship that has held the island hostage for nearly 70 years. These fearless young men and women are risking everything, their safety, their future, and in some cases, even their lives, to demand what every human being is entitled to: freedom, dignity, and democracy.

These protests are not just a cry for help; they are a declaration of resistance. They mark the beginning of the end for the Communist Castro regime that has robbed generations of Cubans of opportunity and hope. While students go hungry and hospitals lack basic supplies, the corrupt elite in Havana live lavishly, pocketing over $500 million even as they hike internet and communication rates by 800%. Their greed knows no bounds.

This is what tyranny looks like: censorship, intimidation, and abuse.

I proudly stand with these brave students. I stand with the Cuban people who refuse to be silenced. I stand with the cause of liberty.

The United States must support their struggle and hold the regime accountable. The people of Cuba have waited long enough. The time for freedom and democracy is now.

¡Viva Cuba libre!

Sincerely,

Your Congressman,
Carlos A. Gimenez

D-Day 2025

This 81st anniversary of D-Day, we honor the legacy and remain forever grateful to the heroes who took the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe.

May we remember the sacrifice they paid in defense of freedom around the world.

Praying for Miguel Uribe

This past weekend, we witnessed the cowardly and despicable assassination attempt against Colombian Senator and presidential nominee Miguel Uribe Turbay. I strongly condemn this heinous act and any form of political violence.

For too long, the Colombian people have endured the consequences of a Marxist administration. President Gustavo Petro’s utter failure to provide basic security and protect his political opponents is unacceptable and dangerous. I call on his government to swiftly bring those responsible for this act of violence to justice.

President Petro must take immediate action to safeguard Colombia’s already fragile democratic process. From the halls of the United States Congress, I further forcefully denounce any attack or threat against the life of former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

Political violence has no place in any democracy. We are closely monitoring the situation in Colombia and stand in solidarity with its people in their pursuit of peace and liberty.

Lourdes and I continue to pray for Senator Uribe’s full and speedy recovery.
