WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez (FL-28) joined House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) for a roundtable highlighting the dangers of socialism and reaffirming their commitment to defending freedom and American democracy.

"As someone who fled communist Cuba as a child, I know firsthand where socialism leads," said Congressman Carlos Gimenez. "It destroys freedom, crushes opportunity, and empowers government at the expense of the people. We cannot allow the failed ideas that have devastated nations around the world to take root here in the United States. I will always fight to protect our democracy, defend individual liberty, and ensure America never becomes a socialist nation."
