Dear Friends, 

The brutal dictatorship in Cuba continues to pose a threat to the security of the United States and repress the Cuban people. This is why I have formally requested that the Trump administration halt all travel and remittances to Cuba, with only limited humanitarian exceptions that must be approved by the State Department. 

For decades, the Cuban dictatorship has weaponized US dollars. In a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, I urge immediate action to sever the regime's financial lifeline. During President Trump's first term, his administration took decisive action to cut off the Cuban regime’s access to hard currency. These measures made it hard for the dictatorship to fund repression. Now, as the regime struggles to maintain control, we must go further to ensure no U.S. resources fuel its survival. 

 The time to act is now. We must stand with the Cuban people in their fight for freedom.

Legislative Updates

Congressman Carlos Gimenez attended a House Armed Serivices Committe hearing titled U.S. Military Posture and National Security Challenges in North and South America.

Rep Gimenez questioned Admiral Alvin Holsey, Commander at U.S. Southern Command, about the threats toward the United States from Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.
