Remembering Lincoln

March 3, 2025

Dear Friends,

To speak of Congressman Lincoln Díaz-Balart is to speak of a titan, a patriot, and a champion for freedom. Lincoln’s leadership has always been an example to follow, and he has inspired so many of us with his unwavering fight for a free Cuba. His advice, counsel, passion, & sincere friendship were staples throughout my career in public service and I will miss him tremendously. Lourdes and I are praying for our dear friends the Díaz-Balart family and express our sincerest condolences at this time.

Sincerely,

Your Congressman,
Carlos A. Gimenez

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Thanks President Trump

I thank President Donald Trump for taking bold action to undo the Biden Administration’s failed bailout of the Nicholas Maduro narco-dictatorship. This decision enhances our national security and reinforces our dedication to democracy in the Western Hemisphere.

From the very beginning, President Trump has focused on advancing American prosperity and security. In his first 100 days, he has challenged illegitimate regimes including Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua. He rightfully reinstated Cuba on the State Sponsor of Terrorism list, severing Maduro’s oil supply, and imposing restrictions on financial transactions with the Cuban military. These measures send a clear message that oppressive regimes will not be accepted, the Castro regime will no longer be tolerated, and any actions that threaten freedom and democracy will face strong opposition.

This leadership is a clear departure from years of ineffective policies that have only empowered authoritarian regimes. By taking decisive action, we are reinforcing global stability, strengthening our alliances, and ensuring that America continues to be a steadfast advocate for democracy.

We must remain vigilant in our fight against tyranny, especially against the oppressive regimes that have threatened the freedom of the Cuban people. I look forward to continuing this work alongside President Trump and standing for freedom, democracy, and the values that make America Strong.

Congressman Carlos Giménez Introduced Legislation to Combat Vehicular Terror

The horrific ISIS-inspired terrorist attack in New Orleans makes tragically clear how vehicles are weaponized as instruments of terror. DHS must take actionable steps to counter the gross proliferation of vehicular threats and share the findings of its assessment with Congress and the American people. I am proud to introduce the Department of Homeland Security Vehicular Terrorism Prevention and Mitigation Act of 2025 and I encourage my colleagues to prioritize its advancement as we continue to mourn the loss of 14 innocent lives on New Year’s Day.

U.S. House Passes Step One of the Budget Resolution

House Republicans got together and passed the first budget bill which will allow us to implement President Trump’s America First Agenda. Alongside my Republican colleagues, I supported this measure to rein in excessive spending, reduce the deficit, and prioritize responsible budgeting. I remain committed to advancing policies that strengthen our economy and protect hard working American taxpayers.
