It's a New Day in America

January 22, 2025

Dear Friends,

January 20, 2025, was a pivotal moment in our nation's history as President Donald J. Trump took the oath of office, ushering in a new era of American greatness. Further, on day one, the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Marco Rubio to be our Secretary of State. It is now time to fight back and win for the American people.

As a Cuban exile who fled the grips of communism at the age of six, I am profoundly honored to witness this historic inauguration. President Trump's immediate actions to secure our borders and designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations demonstrate his unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation.

I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the Trump Administration to confront oppressive regimes in our hemisphere, revitalize our economy, and remove the Communist Chinese presence from the Panama Canal. Together, we will Make America Great Again, fulfilling promises made to the American people.

Here in the Congress, we have already begun to work on the America First Agenda. We have passed the Laken Riley Act and the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. Thanks to the American voters, who gave Republicans the political trifecta (control of both chambers of Congress and the presidency), common sense legislation is back. We are leaving woke behind and bringing in sanity.

Congratulations Secretary Rubio!

On the night of January 20th, the U.S. Senate got to work and confirmed Marco Rubio to be our Secretary of State. Secretary Rubio is now the highest ranking Hispanic American in the U.S. Government - ever. Being confirmed unanimously, I know Secretary Rubio is the best pick and will not only make our nation proud, but also his hometown of Miami.

Welcome to Washington Senator Moody!

Congratulations to Florida’s former Attorney General Ashley Moody on being appointed to the U.S. Senate. I look forward to continuing working closely together to protect our state and nation.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Introduces Immigration Reform

Alongside Representative Williams (R-Tx), we introduced H.R. 551 - Make the Migrant Protection Protocols Mandatory Act. This important bill will require the implementation of the Migrant Protection Protocols. Meaning making President Trumps Remain in Mexico policy permanent in federal law. This act will stem the flow of illegal migration and prevent violent criminals from terrorizing our communities.
