Dear Friends,

The Biden-Harris Administration alongside the failed Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, and Impeached Homeland Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, have granted a known agent of Fidel Castro Regime a visa to live and prosper in the United States. Manuel Menéndez Castellanos served under Fidel Castro in his coordination and support team and as a deputy of the Cuban National Assembly.

Castellanos was granted the special privilege of entry to the United States although he has been a longtime high-level operative in the Cuban Communist Party. In order to receive this privilege, there are outlined rules and regulations, and it is clear that those laws were not followed. This failure by the Biden-Harris Administration of allowing a known Cuban Castro agent into our community continues to prove how weak the administration is on foreign policy.

Alongside Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott and my House colleagues Representatives Mario Diaz-Balart and Maria Elvira Salazar, we sent a letter to President Biden and Secretary Blinken demanding answers as to how a Castro agent was granted a visa to enter the United States.

Manuel Menéndez Castellanos aided and abetted by the Castro regime's prior and current human rights violations. As a regime agent, he is responsible for all the crimes committed on the Cuban island. His crimes cannot go unrecognized, and the United States must not allow known human rights violators and Castro communist agents into our great nation.

Congressman Carlos Gimenez Applauds Captain Kevin Freestone

In the early morning hours on July 8, 2024, Captain Kevin Freestone responded to a boating incident on Big Pine Key. Captain Freestone transported three seriously injured boaters at 2am back to the nearby marina to get them urgent medical attention.

As a result of the brave rapid act of selflessness, the Monroe County Board of Commissioners presented the first Selfless Actions For Emergency Responses (S.A.F.E.R) Award to Captain Kevin Freestone.

Our community is thankful and commends the dedicated service of ensuring the safety of boaters in our South Florida community.
