Dear Friends, 

We need to address an issue that's on the rise—socialism and communism. History has shown us time and time again that these ideologies simply do not work. They deliver only suffering and decline. Just look at countries like Maduro’s Venezuela, Castro’s Cuba, Ortega’s Nicaragua and now Honduras. Each adopted socialism and ended up impoverishing their people, stripping them of their basic human rights, and leaving future generations with little hope.

Communities that fled communism are now under attack. For example, this past week the monument of Jose Martí was vandalized and damaged. I fully condemn this pathetic attack on the Cuban exile community in Miami. Those responsible must be brought to justice. 

When we look at the United States, we see a country built on freedom, opportunity, and innovation. It’s that American spirit that has led us to become the most prosperous nation in history. We must remember that any move toward socialism is a move away from the very principles that make America, America. Let’s preserve our freedom, protect our economy, and ensure a bright future for generations to come.
