Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez said, “From the United States Congress, I extend my congratulations to President-elect Laura Fernández on her resounding victory. Costa Rica is a valued democratic partner in the Western Hemisphere, and this election reflects the strength of its institutions and the will of its people.

“I have had the privilege of working with many dedicated officials from the Government of Costa Rica, including Ambassador Catalina Crespo-Sancho, whose leadership has fostered exceptional relations between Costa Rica, the White House, and the United States Congress.
