WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Carlos A. Gimenez was sworn in for his second term as a Member of the United States House of Representatives by Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, on January 7, 2023. Congressman Gimenez was elected to serve as Representative of Florida’s 28th Congressional District. 

I am incredibly honored to join the 118th Congress and continue the work for South Florida. With Speaker McCarthy leading, this Republican conference will deliver results for America. I am determined to work past the political gridlock for our country and focus on the issues that matter most to America.” Congressman Gimenez said.  


Congressman Gimenez represents Florida’s 28th Congressional District based in Miami-Dade County and includes the Florida Keys. Previously, Congressman Gimenez served as Mayor of Miami-Dade County and is a career firefighter and paramedic who became the City of Miami’s very first Cuban-American Fire Chief.
